So I was a little bummed yesterday that I *only* lost .6 at weight watchers. ONLY?!??! Then I started thinking about it... .6 is AWESOME! That's like, oh, I don't know, like three sticks of butter? Off my booty for good ( I hope! LOL)! So I've decided I am NOT going to complain anymore about a *small* loss. Any loss is a good loss and will get me closer to my goal.

Like Daryl pointed out yesterday, I lost 3 lbs. in two weeks , and that's something to be proud of!

Hot, skinny-ass I come!!!! :-)

Hungry here! Low on points. I decided to do an egg white omellete (sp?) for dinner! 3 egg whites mixed in with some 1% milk, broccoli, green peppers, salsa and CHEESE! YUM-MY! I can almost taste it now...and it's perfect for 3.5 points left for the day. LOL
Do or do not. There is no try.

I am moody, and tired, and crampy and mildly stressed about wedding *stuff*. I won't go into detail cuz I just don't have the energy but it involves people telling Daryl and I what to do for our wedding! And saying we can't afford what WE want. Excuse me? We're GROWN UPS and I think we are WELL aware of the the costs associated with a wedding. Not to mention that we have already DISCUSSED the money aspect of it. I would NEVER DREAM of telling someone else how to spend their money...ya knwo? I am just really CRANKY. Don't mind me.

Dress day, dress day, dress day, dress day...WOO HOO!!!!!!!!

Thursday, January 11, 2007

I'm NOT always the smartest tool in the shed. LOL

KNOWING FULL WELL that I have weight watchers today, I went to Friendly's last night for dinner and inhaled:
1 strawberry milkshake, extra thick
1/2 of the appetizer thingie w/ mozz. sticks, quesadillas and onion rings (didn't eat onion rings tho)
1/2 of my honey barbecue chicken melt
and a BOAT load of salty fries.

HELLO? Stupidity? LOL I need to flush out my system before my 12:15pm weigh-in!! Eek! Drinking lots of water! I also went LIGHT on orange and about a 1/2 cup of dried fruit. I'll eat a yogurt after wi and probably will get a salad from McD's or something.

So...last night we had our FIRST appointment at a reception venue!! It was The Pavilion on Crystal Lake. Not a bad place but definitely not my first choice. There were some things i was NOT impressed with. First off, the ceremony would be outside at this really pretty gazebo close to the lake...very nice! But, we would be at the mercy of the weather, and if it rained, that means the ceremony would be in the SAME ROOM as the reception, with people just sitting at their tables. I do not want that. That's one thing I'm adamant about. Also, there is no Bridal Suite or Lounge for the bride and the girls to hang out in beforehand, and then the bridal party after, while pictures are being taken. And speaking of pictures, you can take some really beautiful shots outside on the deck, on the beach by the water, or by the gazebo, BUT again the weather could literally "rain on my parade" that day. I would have no other alternative for pictures other than the hall itself. So that was a bit of turn-off.

Tonight I'm excited becuz I'm going with Mom (Daryl is on call so he can't come!) to the 4-Points Sheraton, a very nice hotel. They just remodeled both of their ball rooms (their phrase, not mine! LOL) so I'm eager to see how they look. Then Saturday two more venues, and one more on Sunday! Phew! Busy week!!!

It's 3:44pm on a Sunday afternoon and I have *quite* a pleasant little buzz going. LOL Love those white chocolate martinis! At this rate, I'll be ready for bed before our company arrives for dinner. LOL

ANYWAY, I went dress shopping yesterday! I'm STILL feeling this happy, happy glow from the experience! It wasn't the sob-fest I was afraid of, but instead once I found THE DRESS, I just could not stop staring at it. It is absolutely BEAUTIFUL and I don't think I'll EVER feel as beautiful as I know I will be on my wedding day. I know that sounds incredibly sappy but i KNOW it's true. Just standing in the middle of a bridal shop, with the harsh florescent lights, and other future-brides scurrying around, also with my bright red socks poking out from underneath and my hair tied back in a sloppy ponytail--being in this dress, the rest all just melted away. I felt like Belle in Beauty and the Beast. Or Scarlett in Gone with the Wind. Classic and elegant and fabulous. LOL Even better than I thought I would ever feel.

God, I'm excited.

Going to try on wedding dresse today!!!

Yes, I know it's early, but it's more for "fun" now than anything. Me and Michele are going to be heading out at about 12:30pm. I'm excited, but strangely, nervous as well! This is a dress I've thought about wearing ever since I was a little GIRL, so it feels*important* for lack of a better word. Wish me luck! I hope I don't look like a whale! LOL

I gotta get the HELL outta here before I freak out.

Crazy day!

INSERT WHINEY VOICE HERE-----> I feel so damn crappy this afternoon!!! Just about 2pm it came on me...sniffles, sneezing, expanding feeling (not quite sore yet) in my throat, and achy body. I'm totally miserable! And I still have an hour and fifteen minutes here at work. I wish I could just go home and lay down. I'm also exhausted on top of it all. Whaaaaa!!! (and P.S. my throat IS sore now!!!)

So I'm in the process of trying to figure out just WHAT I want in a wedding dress. Most likely, Daryl's grandma is going to be making one for me, but I have NO CLUE what I want! I started looking at different styles and one thing I think I know for sure is that it will be an A-line. I just think that will be the most flattering for my figure. Also I would PREFER some type of spaghetti straps or sleeves (I know, I know, this one has neither!) becuz I hate the feeling that I'm going to "pop out" out of a dress top when I'm dancing, reaching, etc.!

I'm sorta digging the "gathered" look of this particular dress...but I have MUCH MORE dress-hunting to do! I can't wait till this Saturday when me and Michele (and I think Sarah now too) head to a Bridal Mall to look at different dresses! I'm excited!
Happy New Year! I can't believe it's 2007!

Anyway, my weekend was pretty low-key and quiet. Watched some movies, ate some junk food, took the doggies hiking on Saturday morning...oh and I went to see Night at the was cute! Not AS GOOD as I thought it would be, but still a cute movie. I would especially recommend it to anyone who is looking for a fun movie to bring their kids too. All the kids in the theater were laughing throughout the whole thing. It was too funny.

And Daryl and I rang in the New bed. No, get your mind out of the gutter. We were SOUND ASLEEP. LOL New Year's Eve was kind of anti-climactic this year. But I was okay with that! The "quietness" of it all was really appealing to me. And then yesterday, New Year's Day, I took down the Christmas tree and packed up the rest of my decorations. I always feel simultaneously SAD doing that but also's nice to see the living room get back to "normal" and to be able to do a thorough cleaning after the tree (and pine needles!) are gone and it looks all fresh and new!

And now onto "wedding stuff"! I did a little bit of research online this weekend and decided I am going to make a few appointments for us to go view a couple facilities. I'm really eager to cross that main thing off the list so I can sit back and enjoy being engaged! :-) And we decided on the bridal party and have asked everyone. (all except for one more guy). It is going to be:

Matron of Honor:
April #2
Carsa, Crystal, Sarah and Liz (Daryl's cousin. They are very close.)

Best Man: This is still a toss-up between his friends
Matt or Sean. So whichever one is not the best man will obviously be a groomsman.

And the additional groomsmen will be:
Jimmy and John. Daryl still has one more guy to pick but he is torn on that last one.

It's so hard to pick people for the wedding party! I wanted a SMALL-ish wedding party and look at what's happened! And of course there are other friends both of us would have LOVED To have in the wedding but you just cant' have fifty billion bridesmaids and groomsmen. LOL
